Product Description

Amphoteric polyacrylamide is formed by hydrolysis copolymerization of vinyl amide and vinyl cationic monomer acrylamide monomer. According to infrared spectroscopy analysis, the product not only has a carboxyl group negative charge after acrylamide hydrolysis, but also a vinyl group positive charge on the chain. Therefore, it constitutes an irregular polymer with both positive and negative charges on the molecular chain. The zwitterionic type is not a mixture of anionic and cationic types.

Working Principle

1. Charge Neutralization: The cationic and anionic groups on the molecular chain of zwitterionic polyacrylamide can respectively neutralize particles with opposite charges in water, balancing the surface charges of particles and eliminating electrostatic repulsion between particles, promoting particle aggregation.

2. Adsorption bridging: Long chain polymer can simultaneously adsorb multiple particles, forming bridges between particles to connect dispersed particles together and form larger flocs.

3. Net capture and sweeping: When the dosage is large, the polymer chains will entangle with each other to form a network structure, like a large net, capturing and sweeping small particles in the water together, accelerating the sedimentation of particles.
