Sources of rural sewage

The following is an introduction to the sources of rural sewage:

  1. Rural sewage discharge

Domestic sewage in rural my country mainly comes from domestic water, namely toilet water, domestic washing water and kitchen water. Due to the traditional way of domestic water use, a large amount of domestic sewage can be seen everywhere. In addition, part of the water pollution comes from rural domestic garbage, including discarded straw, vegetable leaves, melon and fruit peels, plastic products, pesticide waste, etc., which will lead to an increase in the content of organic matter in groundwater.

Due to the lack of timely garbage removal, these unclassified garbage undergo natural differentiation and degradation, producing a large amount of organic matter and heavy metals, seriously polluting surface water and groundwater.

  2. Pollution of fertilizers and pesticides in agricultural production

my country has always maintained its status as a major grain producer, but the amount of fertilizer applied in my country is also quite large. my country's fertilizer investment in agricultural production is high, but the utilization rate is not high. Excess fertilizers will enter the soil and water and seep into the ground, causing soil fertility to decline, soil acidification, and soil compaction, increasing the total hardness, nitrate, nitrite and heavy metal content of groundwater, seriously threatening the safety of human drinking water.

  3. Water discharge from livestock and poultry farming

Livestock and poultry farming has made great contributions to promoting agricultural development and increasing farmers' income. However, in order to ensure the deliciousness of poultry and livestock meat, the farming method is often free-range and large-scale. Relevant data show that the amount of sewage generated by raising a pig is 7 times the amount of normal human sewage, and the amount of sewage generated by raising a cow is nearly 22 times. The feces and urine are neither stored in impermeable pools nor returned to sufficient farmland in a short time.

Therefore, when livestock and poultry manure is directly discharged into the water body without harmless treatment, especially in the rainy season, the livestock and poultry manure piled in the open air will quickly penetrate into the soil, accelerating the pollution of soil and groundwater sources, and affecting the growth of aquatic organisms and the lives of residents.
